"APOCALYPTIC VISION" by Jonathan Stephens

 

Hi everyone. Please download my latest piece entitled: "Apocalyptic Vision". I've been developing the concept of this piece for the last several years. Unfortunately, it's a reality and a vision that's been weighing heavily on my mind for quite some time. I realize that usually the image should always tell the story and meaning without explanation but, there are a few things I'd like to point out regarding the various forms of symbolism behind it. There are several things that are not clearly visible via email resolution so I want to shed some light on them.

All 5 Major Religions are represented by their symbols at the bottom. The Sad Girl is holding The Holy Bible with the title "Revelation" on it. Another book lies to right with the barely visible title "New World Order" on it. The ornate Gold Symbol Framed on the left above the monkey is the symbol for Free Masonry "The Masons" - A Secret Society that most US Presidents and Powerful Men Across the Globe are members of. The Five Star Pentagon is framed to the right representing "The Pentagon" and the foundation of Power. We then see the Euro Symbol representing the same currency used by the New World Order - see Revelations. The Chimpanzees represent Evolution and where we are now as humans. And last but not least we Have the Chimp playing The Doors on the Phonograph. You can't make it out from this low resolution email but the title of the song can be seen in between the notes. It reads..."The End"

This is a social commentary on our mishandling of power ... and society's inability to handle superior technology... It seems that we've reached the age of the Uncomprimised... we're still just children.

This piece is currently being submitted for publication on many fronts...I wanted you to see it first.

WE HAD 750 PEOPLE SHOW AT THE FOLLOWING CANNIBAL FLOWER EVENT (FEB. 22) !!!

I'll be exhibiting several pieces in a group show this coming Saturday Night with CANNIBAL FLOWER located downtown at THE BREWERY. There will be over 50 artists showing work, live painting, projection installations, a bar, and DJ's spinning. There's a $7 cover at the door. Doors Open at 9:30pm.
